Vessel Hotel REF Matsuyama City Station by VESSEL HOTELS (Head office: 3-4-27 Minami-Honjo, Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President: Yoshiro Seo; hereinafter "Vessel Hotels"), which operates hotels nationwide under the concept of "We love you, your family, and this city.," has partnered with Ishizuchi Sake Brewery Co. (President: Hiroshi Ochi, hereinafter referred to as "Ishizuchi Sake Brewery") to serve local sake from Ehime Prefecture and Matsuyama City, with the aim of promoting the charms of Ehime Prefecture and Matsuyama City both in Japan and abroad.
Ehime Prefecture is said to be a hidden sake production center, with top-level sake brewing techniques in Japan. However, in recent years, domestic shipments of sake, shochu, and beer have been declining, with the result that the value of sake shipments will decrease to more than 70% by 2021, compared to the peak in 1973 (according to the Agricultural Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, April, 2022). Vessel Hotels In response to this, we have created an opportunity to sample Ishizuchi Shuzo's sake "Unfiltered Junmai" at breakfast, in the hopes of "making sake more accessible," "encouraging people to enjoy the local sake of the places they travel to," and "making sake tasting more casual. We would like to contribute to the local community by making the hotel not only a place to stay but also a place to encounter and experience local sake.
In addition to tasting sake at breakfast, we plan to sell Ishizuchi sake at the hotel in the future.
