"Gensai Kiln"

Genyo Kono

The image of Tobe ware is that of simple, sturdy and practical tableware, and while affirming this, I would like to maintain an attitude of creating what I want to create as an artist and creator.

CLOSE

"Yoki kiln"

Kimiko Tanaka

Up until now, I have been making pottery with a focus on dyed vessels (tableware), but this time I was given the opportunity to make a new hanging vase, and while I was confused, I was also filled with joy and anticipation.

CLOSE

"Umenose kiln"

Terumichi Saga

Of course, we wanted to not get in the way of the flowers, which are the main attraction, but we also wanted to blend them into the space of the guest room and express the quality of the handiwork. For this reason, we purposely do not apply any painting. The shape is made by gluing individual parts together, creating a hexagonal shape with a sense of tension and warmth that can only be achieved by handicrafts.

"Endogama"

Hiroto Endo Ai

Endogama is a small pottery studio run by a married couple using Tobe clay, which has both strength and delicacy. We strive to create simple, modern tableware that adds fun and beauty to your everyday life.

CLOSE

"Unseki kiln"

Masayuki Yamada

By adding expression to white porcelain, which tends to have a cold texture, and adding flowers to it, I created it with the hope of creating an expression that would give people a strong sense of life in contrast. Tobe's vases made from porcelain clay reflect the flowers beautifully and have been loved for a long time. I hope that this "horn" will become a Tobe ware that will be used with care in the same way.

"Joshua Workshop/Ryusen Kiln"

Tatsuto Takenishi
Asato Ikeda

[Mizuka series]
Joshua Blue shading created by Tatsuto Takenishi's original formulation. Rhythmic shapes created by Asato Ikeda's unique potter's wheel technique.
A team of four people develops a collaboration of two people that naturally follows Japanese beauty. Feel the excitement of the beautiful scenery you see while traveling.

``Sai Kiln (Nagato Pottery)''

Junko Nagato

This is a work of Japanese paper dyeing technique that is an extension of my own work.
This is a technique in which the eagle is cut into a pattern, placed on a base material, and then painted on top. The unique texture of Japanese paper remains and creates a soft atmosphere.
We hope you enjoy the space with this vase.

CLOSE

"Onishi pottery"

Sen Onishi/Kumi Shiraishi

What is important to me is to continue searching for new charms of Tobe ware. Careful work and originality.
I hope that the creator's thoughts and commitment can be conveyed through the work.

CLOSE

"Mori Tobo"

Kotaro Mori/Kaori Mori

The theme of the "Variety" work is diversity. It expresses the power to accept diverse things such as various thoughts, ideas, and sensibilities.
``Main'' was created based on the theme of the raw materials of Tobe ware. By bending and tearing the base material, I created this piece so that the texture of Tobe ware's raw materials can be seen from the cross section.

CLOSE

"SUKOSHIYA"

Ayumu Matsuda

I don't usually make flower vases, but since there are fewer restrictions than tableware, and I was able to decorate them with dried flowers, I had more freedom and had fun making them.

CLOSE

"Umeyama kiln"

Umeno Seitosho

Umeyama Kiln is known as the oldest kiln in Tobe Town, and while inheriting the tradition of Tobe ware, they work on production with a focus on functionality and beauty.
Each vase is handmade and hand-painted, and is painstakingly created by our artisans.
It has a timeless design and is extremely durable, so please feel free to use it.

"Washogama"

Kazuya Yamamoto/Shunichi Yamamoto

Kazuya Yamamoto/This single flower vase, ``etude,'' eliminates straight lines and creates a soft, flowing curve. Let time flow slowly.
Shunichi Yamamoto/I make Tatara pottery every day. This one-flower vase, ``Spiral,'' was created with a modern image by placing rings randomly around the flower.

CLOSE

"Yamanakagama"

Takumi Yamanaka

We make tableware and other items with the motto of enjoying sharing with various people through the vessels we make. This time it's a wall hanging flower vase.
Although it was difficult, I had fun making it.
I look forward to new encounters through my work.

Shirakata Kogyo

Iyo Kasuri is a traditional Japanese textile that is characterized by its soft and absorbent material.
Dying the fabric makes it strong and has insect repellent properties, so it has been a valuable material for workers since ancient times.

CLOSE

Ancient and Modern Art Goryu

Most of the Iyo Kasuri used in the artwork was made before the war, over 80 years ago. The large-sized one we delivered this time was made to be used as a mirror futon. It seems that many of these mirror futons were used as wedding accessories, and many of them feature designs such as cranes, turtles, and noshi. The patterns that are used alternately with this figurative pattern are called igata, which are geometric patterns. In the case of igata, both vertical and horizontal kasuri threads are used.
The igata also have various designs and are one of the highlights.
