In line with this, Vessel Hotels will start a new business in collaboration with "Ghost Kitchens" at VESSEL INN UENO IRIYA STATION. This business will be the first franchise store of "Ghost Kitchens", where hotel staff themselves will cook in the kitchen and deliver the food to customers using Uber Eats. This is a rare initiative for a hotel that specializes in accommodation and does not have a restaurant, as it only serves breakfast to guests. Although this is a new challenge, we will provide a service that customers can use with peace of mind, based on the hospitality and safety we have cultivated through hotel management.

Behind this challenge is a desire to do something useful for the local community and revitalize the town. We wanted to send out information from the hotel that we could contribute to the local community, not just our guests, so we started researching. We found Ghost Restaurant Research Institute's initiative to "deliver food to the local community without having a brick-and-mortar store," and contacted them to see if we could work together, which is how this collaboration came about.
The hotel is located in the Iriya area of Taito Ward, a residential area lined with apartment buildings, and is well suited to delivery and takeout services, so we expect it to be used by many local residents. Vessel Hotels currently operates 28 facilities nationwide, with a total of 32 facilities planned, including a hotel scheduled to open in the summer of 2022. The franchise store collaborating with Ghost Kitchens aims to expand to locations nationwide, mainly in urban areas such as Sapporo, Osaka, and Fukuoka.
