What is Hometown Tax?

Hometown tax donations contain the word "tax payment."
In reality, it is a "donation" to prefectures, cities, towns, and villages.
This is a system that allows you to donate to the hometown where you were born and raised, or to a local government you want to support. If you make a donation, you will need to complete procedures such as filing a tax return, and for an effective self-payment of 2,000 yen, you will receive a gift from the local government to which you donated.

*All amounts other than 2,000 yen will be deducted from your income tax and resident tax.

*The maximum amount that can be deducted is subject to a certain limit depending on income, family composition, etc.
